Reminiscening

Do you remember much of your early childhood days?

As I sit by my window watching my girls having fun in their own way, makes me reflect on my own childhood days.  The days when nothing mattered more than having my sibling as my best friends and playmates.

My girls are barefeet running around picking and smelling sun flower, pushing each other around on their tricycle, laughing, chattering, and yes screaming. Ohhhh how I remember similar days but there weren't tricycles in the picture. In those days we made our own toys like box trucks or dolls from dried mangoe seeds. Yeees, those were the good old days in St. Thomas, Jamaica.

My mother was a single parent who tried desperately to make ends meet.  Our situation didn't allow us to get store bought toys that other kids took for granted. Instead we used our imagination and creativity. Come to think of it, we were much better off in a certain sense. We had the opportunity of putting or minds to work. We were members of active teams. Team work was the order of the day. What did we know about team dynamics? Absolutely nothing. The irony of it all.

Oooohhhh the little things we tend to forget.

Forging Ahead

For the past couple of days I have assessing different ways to make money online via home base business. There are definitely a lot of websites out there and I am trying my best to scroll through to find something that will actually work for me. My ignorance in this area has caused me to be juggling too much with what I actually want to do.

Anyways, I have now found a program that I think will work for me. It is the Strong Future International Marketing Group. I am blogging about it on a new blog that I have started. The name of the blog is Hone Base Business Opportunity found at makeaneffortforthefuture.blogspot.com.  As my experience grows with this venture I will document it on this blog.

So far I have enlisted the assistance of friends, but as we all know so well skepticism is strong given the number of illegitimate sites that permeates the internet. I can’t blame them because I too feel that way many times when I sit around my computer seeking opportunities only find that many reviews regard them as scams.

I have made a promise to myself and that is I won’t go down without a fight. I am sure many have found sites that are actually aiding them to regenerate residual income. If they can, why can’t I? So with this in mind, I am steadfast on making it online.

Kind Heart

Ok,

So yesterday I had some business to take care. I went to purchase my eye drop, then off to the bank to do some business. After completing one transaction I went to another section of the bank to conduct another transaction. When I gave the bank employee my ID card she repeated my name approximately 3 times. Then she finally said, "I know this name and face". She looked at me and asked me where I worked and we began our little conversation. Well, she does know the name and could finally recognize and place the face.

At the end of it all, this kind heart lady shared some kind words of encouragement and information that she thought was valuable in my situation. Of-course, I acted upon the information. I would be a fool if I did not, don't you think? Well, it so happened that, that little bit of information was not for me. But anyways, I did not let that get me down. I smiled and continued on my lucky way.

The thing is, given the stress of the time, this lady found the time to offer kind words in addition to sharing some information she thought was of value to me. Not many persons would have done this. Going to service oriented organizations the greetings and pleasantries are so perfunctory, that in most cases you too behave likewise. How many times have you entered a building and joyfully say "good morning" or whatever based on the time of day? How many persons actually answer? My point exactly! The level of politeness has diminished so badly that simple courtesies seem outplace.  So having this lady actually breaking the monotony of this perfunctoriness was a breath of some well-deserved fresssssshhh air.  You see, amidst the madness of life’s unraveling predicaments, there are still decent and caring individuals who are willing to put their own situation aside just to offer a good word. That makes all the difference!

Let us make ourselves a promise. Let us from this moment on positively "touch" the life of another; whether a family member, friend, or even a strange. You may think that you are going through a bad experience, but, remember, there is always someone in a worst position.  They may be well-dressed and at times even well-spoken or they may be the smelliest. Regardless of their appearance show some level of kindness as you do not know what the future holds. Put a little love in your heart.

Just a little sing-along for you.

Welcome!

Hi Everyone,

This blog will discuss several issues ranging from personal, inspirational to informational depending on the mood of the day or simply daily occurrences.

I am actually new to this and I am sure I will learn as I go along.

Well let’s see.
I am in a position that I definitely did not think I would be in. Many of you out there I am sure are in the same position. Such as haven’t fulfilled your educational or profession goals due to situations that you may or may not have had control over. Poor execution of bad decision making skills may have also been a cause. For me I think my situation is due to both. But yet, I do not want to sound unappreciative because some good things have occurred along the way which I am most definitely grateful for. I am not boasting here, but a husband who loves me, a home to call my own, and two beautiful girls are worth being labeled as a blessing. Although living by paycheck to paycheck I still consider myself wonderfully blessed. The situation may be strained but I am grateful because there are many persons in a worst situation than I am.

However, being human, I can’t help thinking about the ‘what ifs’. During and after my “what ifs” moment I begin to feel very stressed, angry, and miserable. How many of you feel that way too? If I had or had not listened to him or her? If I had stayed and completed …. Where would I be now? What would I be doing? Would my marriage last? Would I have had my daughters? What did I do wrong? I did my best. What could I have done differently? Suppose I went there instead of here? The questions begin to multiply at an alarming rate, you begin to doubt even the existence of your very being, the anger with yourself begins to rage on the inside and at times tears are inevitable. At this point what do you do?

The times I feel most worthless is? Can you guess? If you respond on month ends and when my kids ask for something we cannot afford. The answer is yes. It gets me so aggravated. I don’t know how many of you begin to argue with your spouse on the ending of each month when the bills to be paid. But yes, I do. Don’t know why, because he tries very hard to keep calm through this whole situation. Afterwards, yes, I feel like crap.

Many times I have to check myself as I refuse to transfer my undesirable attitude and behavior on my kids and my husband who may not have done anything to deserve a negative response. I try to be guided by the words of the famous Desiderata in which I have found refuge. Believe me it works! But it is hard.

So what am I doing with myself now? Lol, I am here online trying to find something that will pay me a little money. (Smiling) This is hard, so many scams! When you find something you begin to doubt yourself. Do I have the skills? Can I complete this task accurately? You know what? I am tired of questioning myself? I am tired truly tired. With all the lashing my self-esteem and confidence have taken its time to shake up. It is time to get out there, time to forge ahead despite the current economic situation that echoes through the air.
If you are in a similar situation I encourage you to use that same self-defeating attitude and rise up. You might not think you have the strength to be disappointed, but let us consider each and every disappointment we encounter as a stepping stone to building a stronger personality. I am going to try it. Will you? Let us do it together. Come on!!!

In closing, I leave you with the words of the Desiderata. Hope it will help you as much as it has helped me.
